Got an elderly and well-used Hentri Lloyd ocean that I have just washed/reproofed and it's looking good for another season.

But - several of the Velcro strips are coming off. What adhesive could I try to stick them back down?

On two jackets, I've intended to peel back the velcro on the cuffs and ended up peeling the velcro away from the rubber. I've tried lost of things. Sikaflex didn't do it. Bostick contact adhesive didn't. Iron on strip didn't. I used a thin layer of hot melt glue - nothing was completely successful

Had a similar issue with the velco on the back of one of my saloon cushions, ordinary superglue worked well.

Is is a gore-tex jacket? If it is you need to find something that will stick to teflon.

I use a 3m product for sticking various materials to each other that then have to be subjected to vigorous cleaning down with high pressure water jets both cold and heated. We tested the usual sikaflex, superglues, epoxies etc and found they all failed to meet the exacting standards..

It has the appearance of a simple double sided tape when in fact it is just a layer of adhesive trapped between two peel off layers.

3M 300LSE
3M Adhesive Transfer Tapes with 3M Low Surface Energy Acrylic Adhesive 300LSE provides high bond strength to most surfaces, including many low surface energy plastics such as polypropylene and powder coated paints. The acrylic adhesive also provides excellent adhesion to surfaces contaminated lightly with oil typically used with machine parts.

Dunno what you have reproofed it with but the reproofing may well prevent any form of adhesive adhering properly.

I did the same last year and scrounged some double sided tape ffrom a roll a friend had. No sign of distress yet but dunno abt long term.
