Glass siliconed into frame??

I've been given a price to refurb the screens on my princess 30ds but mentions silicon between glass and frame, acceptable or bodgy? Opinions sought.
They are pointy cornered rhomboid shape if that makes any difference.

There are proprietary glazing sealants which should be used and are certainly not silicone. Unfortunately the word silicone gets used a lot to refer to any kind of sealant in a tube. Geocel 895 is a structural glazing sealant that I used when refitting the acrylic pane in my hatch recently.

I think you're a bit confused,

Yep looks like I am. It is a neutral cure silicone which behaves slightly differently as it doesn't go off in the tube. What this means is that you can do your neatest job ever with a tube of the stuff, admire it and leave it to set, but if it's out of date (cartridge wasn't dated) it never sets! Damned stuff. I really didn't think it was silicone based but am happy to be corrected.

? Aquariums are put together with silicon. I built one that holds near 1000 litre. Put together with..... you guessed, silicon sealant, ok acetic silicon sealant for the pedantic. Not a nail, screw or rawl bolt in sight
