Sorry I could not be there, but do you all think that we should be discussing this in a public forum? it does suggest that Scottish Scuttlebutters could not arrange a p1ss-up in a pub!

Actually, the first time I went to one of these, I turned up far too early and it was only when I spotted Billjrat that I knew I was in the right pub. Fortunately we had gone to the spring muster and at least knew what a few people looked like. Maybe we need an identification system, like wearing a lily flower in ones lapel. Or on second thoughts maybe not, especially if we are to meet in certain pubs, the Doublet. Eddeie Wylie is a good place for cheap booze and a reasonable nosh but it is very large and busy.

Oh, I see that C W has had a similar idea.

Pink trousers? Flowers in lapels? Wooly bunnets with anchors on?
Just come in and find the largest vacant table, pretend to look like a crowd, and read your PBO until the next person carrying a PBO comes and interrupts your peace and quiet. (oldest, tattiest PBO edition gets a free pint from the assembled horde)
Oh, and wear some eau de bilge in order to keep the area reserved for those of a similar persuasion.

I dont feel I am in a position to suggest another date after missing this one.
Maybe Ken would like to suggest a date that suits him and might suit the rest of us.
Bill, Better call that pint as I have a PBO from apr 1973, No 76 and it cost 30p, makes me sneeze every time I open it. Atchewwww.
