for a number of reasons and not just the virus. Question is where to base the boat for next summer. Maybe just a month or two away from base, somewhere on the south coast. 35 ft fin keeler. so where?

recommendations? we have done weir quay before and a month in salcombe too. dont fancy the solent or to be accurate the likely prices.

the idea is to park the boat somewhere for a month or two on a pontoon ( getting the dog on board!) and day sailing from there. So its a base we want rather than a cruise if you see what I mean. We've done Falmouth in the past and it just a bit too far from home

If you do not want the boat to be too far from home it would help if you told us where you live. Is Wales possible?

Much of the South Coast is lovely but have you thought of the East Coast. The sailing can be challenging and the scenery has its own beauty, and it could be a good bit cheaper. A pontoon neighbour drives here from South Wales.

I know of someone who is noted at Beaulieu with a dog as companion and it works for her, but not a marina

Home is Bristol. That makes the east coast too far. Suggests the arc from the solent to Padstow

Or am I making too many assumptions - is it possible to locate in the Solent area for a month or two mid summer at a sensible cost?
