the other post seems to have gone pop.

anyway, i booked a space for tyhe boat on a ship 28th april-5th may, no ship arrived. Then it was fixed at 14th may definite, honest. Now, it's 20th may. Is that fixed? Well, more like 22nd may. Bolx.

Soo, anyone fancy a trip? 1300 miles, bout 60 hours running at 23ish knots, range 400 miles. We fly to malaga, and go as soon as wx looks ok, pos after that big atlantic low has gorn away. I am commercial YM for worried types, and um, excellent at swimming too. Probly need 3-4 people and run offshore a bit, not sure yet. I cd've had the zefenders blimmin alamancs last weekend, dang. Never mind, mostly just keep hanging a right BUT not too far to the right that we hit the land.

Re: Do you take raggies?

very possibly. The half-plan so far is to go on this sunday. I spect if you are raggie you will know lots of things like erm, how to find weather forecast - would you know if there will be any weather? NOTE: stinkipottering is the opposite of ragging so we don't want any wind, please.

Won't it be a bit noisy for you?

The Plan

plan is to go to Malaga, and set off early afternoon on this Sunday 16th May. This isn't a leisurely sightseeing trip. It is 60 hours running, and we need 4 stops minimum. But we won't risk things to get back early. We may be able to make longer runs, perhaps even overnight or at least late/early running. I think we shd be able to run 2 watches of 2 plus me to smash the boat into the pontoons etc. It's a powerboat running at planing speeds, so we have to have 2 at the helm to keep an eye on the water forward and/or on radar pretty much 100% of the time. If you have done the trip, got suitable blue (or spose this is light-blue) water experience, can tell crap jokes or any combination, and can get away, pls PM me.

Sounds like fun. Sorry I can't help. Looks like a Sunday start should provide you with reasonably flat seas for the duration...

Significant wave height forecast for the next 120 hours...

Hi, i may be able to assist you, im a cockney londoner 33 with 20+ years experience of mainly sailing aboard a 30 footer, but i have also crewed a couple of motor boats, the biggest being a moonraker 36, my experience is east coast based with my longest trips being sailing to france/belgium/holland and south coast, ive never undertaken a journey quite as long as this before, but as we would be eating up the miles at 23 knts, then i guess its safe to presume were talking days rather than weeks to find/guess/navigate our way round, i can helm, swing spanners, make copious amounts of bacon butties and coffee and generally get in the way of proceedings quite nicely, so if your real desperate then i could be available, i also have a couple of questions-

1. What boat is this exactly and how old is she?
2. What saftey equipment is available?
3. Would you be able to supply me with a lifejacket (mines aboard another boat)
4. Would you pay me for this along with my expenses! ;-)

Well Matt if the missus was'nt ill and I was'nt busy with this Sea School thingy theres nothing I'd like better. To Gib was no probs less than an hour.

About 1500nm I believe, Phil made it in a week on SS Man 64 in daylight hours only, so weather permitting................no worries/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

This trip sounds fantastic fun !!
I wish I was available. Can't wait for the full story on your return, and a crew list of course.
