I am in the process of purchasing one of the above, and as a confirmed "nerd" I have been scouring the web for some time now eager to seek out information about my (soon to be) little boat. Alas to no avail.

Guess there is a project there for all Gib Sea owners to form a nice little online community, but I digress...

I am keen to talk/meet with other owners and talk over endless beer/pimms/ginnun-tonics/etc etc about, errr... well.... "stuff"!

My immediate projects include 1) New engine, 2) New heads and 3)Roller-firling headsail. ANY advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Jimmy

Jimmy,

Yes the Gibsea owners web site is a must - www.gibsea.org.uk

Sails - Call Kemp sails at 01929 554378, they can advise on roller reefing too. Engines - I'd consider rebuilding the one you have but Ralf Ferrand has just re-engined his 28 (see the web site).

Where are you based? I'm in Portsmouth.

Dave

I used to have one of these - good boats, great to start on. Generally very easy to sail (especially if you have furling gib). Had mine for 4 yrs or so. Give me a PM if you have any specific questions.
