Getting stanchions out?

Stainless steel antenna fitting in an aluminium bracket, treated with 6% HCl. The fitting was absolutely unmovable but within 5 minutes of HCl treatment almost fell out.

I should have asked on the forum! Where do you get the HCI?

Available widely as brick acid or brick cleaner. This one at B&Q. Check the data sheet as some do not contain HCl. This one does. Bostik Specialist brick cleaner 1L | DIY at B&Q
