Getting ready for winter

I purchased my first boat last year and decided to keep her on the water (Lake Windermere) last winter due to wanting to use it. I've decided to take her out this year and want to winterise her myself, partly to gain some experience. I know the basics, but would like some advice on what I should be doing.
i.e. antifouling (2 1/2 years old)
propping up the boat
replacing anodes etc.
draining off??
Can anyone recommend a good book/ internet site, which explains all the things I should be getting prepared to do?
Bayliner (no jokes please) 2958 flybridge
twin 5L V8 mercruiser petrol

Thanks

Have a look at Nigel Calders Mechanical and Elecrical Manual or similar by same author. May seem pricey but really decent info.

Genuine enquiry

Why on earth would anybody want twin 5 litre V8 engines on Lake Windermere? I thought there was a speed limit of somewhere around 8 knots? Even at that speed you would get from one end to the other in two hours?

Re: Genuine enquiry

The speed limit does not come in to force until 2005. Currently the only speed restriction is in the main town area of Bowness and a small area in the north and south of the Lake. Plus thats what came with the boat and its nice to open it up once in while as long as your considerate to other boat users. By the time 2005 comes Ill probably consider buying a new boat with smaller engines or moving to the coast.. Does that help answer your question?
