Getting Nice Shiny Props

can anyone recommend or know how to remove that green algae from my not-so-nice-anymore steel props, it seems that a standard scrub and 'Star brite's ' hull /metal cleaner are having little effect.

Yes they are removed and sitting in the kitchen getting shunted about by swmbo as she prepares lovely xmas dinners etc!

Starbrite produce a product which comes in a spray bottle, it's very good for removing barnacles and worms etc and leaves everything nice and bright and shiny retails for around £13.00 for half a litre or so,
But if you read the label you will find it is basically Hydrochloric acid!!! don't think that retails at anything like the Chandlery prices!!!

Best stuff for removing green algae is alloy wheel cleaner, just spray it on and rinse off after a few minutes, done it for the past 8 seasons on my High 5 prop.
