Getting engine oil out.

Just dug out an old invoice - 2018
In the UK, I paid £51.12 inc VAT for a 20 litre tub (I ordered 8 tubs)
Rimula RT4 X 15w40
It must have gone up but I'm looking for a good cheap Spanish supplier.
In the UK I used Certas.

€95 for 20 litres
Out of stock but worth keeping an eye on them.
Down Murcia way which is in the SCM direction
Shell Rimula R4 X 15w40 20L
Yes, David, but still a bit further on from SCM though.
Thanks - my experience is that the couriers work well in our part of Spain.
I get the marina dockmasters to put my deliveries on the boat where I have a camera and can check when the delivery arrives etc.

I don't need any oil this year - still have at least one tub in my paniol (shed).
But next year, I will be looking.
At that time, I will give the UK guys a call and see how much it is then.
Thanks for investigating.

BTW - Sant Carles is no more!!
Apparently the local town voted to rename it to La Rapita - the old name was in fact Sant Carles De La Rapita.
I don't think it makes any difference to the marina but the signposts in the town have been changed.
And Google Maps now posts it as La Rapita and La Rapita Marina - MDL (UK)'s website still refers to it as Sant Carles.
I will probably have to make sure of the delivery address when ordering stuff!!

Reminds me, I lived and worked in Bombay (Mumbai) for a couple of years when there was a thing about renaming roads
“Marine Drive“ became “Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road”
It never quite caught on.

Just extracted 11 litres of oil directly from my Yanmar engine directly into a drum.
Took 10 mins at most and no mess , simply and quickly with a £12.00 eBay 12v pump.
Doing the other engine tomorrow.

Does this mean I dont have to lend you mine anymore? Or is that another tool you're going to keep clean and polished?

Now that you have taken your engines out and sold them to coastal rides , I thought you might have sold it.

How the heck did you get over a litre per minute? Were the engines at full temp or what?

I worn out my last electric pump as it was leaking through the casing.
Read the instructions on my next one, pump oil around 50c. Ahh so pumping full temperature oil may have been the problem ?

Yes ................always run up the engines in gear to operating temps.

About 10-15 mins at 1200 RPM usually does the trick. First making very sure boat is firmly attached to pontoon. :)
Allow 5 mins for oil to drain down.

The saucepan is to place under the oil filter to catch inevitable spillage.

No doubt there will be an inquest at some point as to why pan is no longer in the cupboard.
Genuine Yanmar oil filter. £43.50 + postage
Ebay to OEM £20.00 +postage
Local motor factor. Fleetguard. £11.50 each collected.

Lidl electric pump. I was impressed with how easy it was to get all the oil out of my D6.

Sump to drum in one go and all for £12.00-£15.00.
Pop oil pump into a couple of old carrier bags and hang up in the garage, its so small next time you need it, you will probably wonder where you left it.

The last time my Mrs found kitchen utensils in my garage she went on a card bending shopping spree, I slept on the sofa and lived on take outs until she started feeding me again. Your way has to be far more expensive than any Pela pump.
