Getting engine oil out.

£200 but if you want to make oil changes far more pleasant and you’re just starting doing your own maintenance and have many years of this task ahead, I can recommend this.
Also works well even without warming up the engine (although I’m in Spain so not UK temperatures)
I draw up from the dip stick tube which gets 90% of the oil out.
Pela pumps are £70

However I dare say an electric oil pump is potentially quicker and easier .

Our Princess is factory fitted with something similar.
Permanently installed - one for each engine - with a valve arrangement that can switch from extracting engine oil to extracting gearbox oil.
An oil change for me (and I do it myself) is about 70 litres per engine.
Removing the old oil is really easy - operate the appropriate valves and push a button.
It takes about a couple of hours for each engine including refilling and changing the filters/breathers.

I've used Pela pumps before (in fact I have one in my shed in Spain) but they are useless for moving large quantities of oil.
We had Volvo D12s on our old boat and took all day to suck it out through the dipstick.
In the end, I rigged up a 12v pump and some microbore copper tube.

Yep! my Pela lives the shed as well now. I think it might have been your electric pumps that converted me. :)

Here's a photo of the installation - arrows show the pump locations.
There is a little button beside each pump to operate them.

The brass loop in the above photo is the discharge pipe.
I hook it over am empty oil can to remove the old oil.
I keep some empty oil tubs for this purpose.
The whole process is clean and quick.

I notice your fire extinguisher is a Sea-Fire
I‘ve found a Sea-Fire agent in Barcelona who is going to service mine.
May be useful

Thanks for that - I've stuck it in my list of useful contacts.
Still looking for a good Shell Rimula agent in Spain though.
