Getting Afloat series now on YouTube

Thoroughly enjoying the series Nick, thanks for sharing them all with us.
Looking forward to seeing how that Sharpy turns out.

Absolutely excellent nick. Amazing how things have changed filming wise, stripping the boat down without all the ppe which film makers are burdened with today. Well done.

What a way to waste my lunch time and ....Oops! It's 15:30 and I'm now in for an evening of work!
Great watching.

Thanks.

Nick, Thanks for taking the time to upload all 15 episodes. I thoroughly enjoyed every episode and learnt a lot. I wish there were more !
All the best, John

Just watched the lot, and wanted to say thanks Nick for taking the time to upload them all. I came for the boats, but stayed for the outrageous 90's guitar riff (in 2002?) Really enjoyed it though, the best thing i've seen on youtube I reckon, and a damn sight better than what passes for TV these days. It's a shame there aren't more boating shows like this. There's plenty of boating stuff on youtube but so much of it is lifetsyle based, with some bikini clad lady in a tropical paradise posing on social media. Turns out some bloke in a shed with a dog and an old boat is much more captivating.

Hi Nick, one of my all time favourite tv series and would love to watch them all again but it seems episodes 2, 8 and 9 have gone missing??
Another couple of questions for you, episode 12, not narrated by yourself, I wondered why?
I am restoring two wooden Scorpions and could do with some advice!
Kind regards, Duane.

About fifteen years ago I presented a TV show called Getting Afloat. The master tapes have been stored carefully away, but before they fade I thought I would have them transferred to DVD. I hope to upload all fifteen episodes, plus the original trailer for Discovery Home and Leisure.
We had great fun making them, Mike Custance was the Director, Stuart Elliott was camera man (Wartime Farm and Full Steam Ahead producer) editor, and musician, Vanessa Bird was Associate Producer, Evelyn Collins was assisting, and finally the late Tessa the dog.
I hope you enjoy them. More uploads tomorrow.
Although this was repeated a lot (all over the world) it was never released on DVD. I hope you enjoy it (again)!

Hi Nick, great idea, sure to be well recieved. My wife and I met Anton who did 'Dreamboats' on the mid harbour pontoon at Dartmouth last year, he was with his new boat, a Hardy motorboat. I, for my sins, was involved in a Discovery Home and Leisure programme 'Petrolheads'. I wonder what happened to those tapes?
