About fifteen years ago I presented a TV show called Getting Afloat. The master tapes have been stored carefully away, but before they fade I thought I would have them transferred to DVD. I hope to upload all fifteen episodes, plus the original trailer for Discovery Home and Leisure.
We had great fun making them, Mike Custance was the Director, Stuart Elliott was camera man (Wartime Farm and Full Steam Ahead producer) editor, and musician, Vanessa Bird was Associate Producer, Evelyn Collins was assisting, and finally the late Tessa the dog.
I hope you enjoy them. More uploads tomorrow.
Although this was repeated a lot (all over the world) it was never released on DVD. I hope you enjoy it (again)!

Lovely to see these again. I remember watching the series when first shown - together with the many welcome repeats. The best practical boat oriented programme I have come across, a change I suspect from what would be offered today.
Thanks Nick, much appreciated.

Do we get branded as "freeloaders " if we don't pay to view ?.........most enjoyable viewing !!

Thanks I really enjoyed the first one. I like the simple informative style; no infantile gimmicks or patronisation, but still very accessible.

Hi SeaNick, those videoas are great, tvm for putting them up and passing on the link. Did you keep in touch with any of the boats shown in the series ? Would be interesting to know how they got on in the years since...

I was previously unaware of this series (and only dimly aware of Discovery Channel), and have now watched two random episodes. Really entertaining, appealing, and informative - very nicely done by all concerned.:encouragement:

I was particularly impressed by your presentation and knowledgeable but concise commentary, and the entertaining and subtly informative filming/editing.

I look forward to watching the rest.

it would be interesting to revisit the boats and people and see what they're up to now.
