getting a boat on the plane

Probably but I do not think it would be a particularly fast ride but maybe someone else will have a better opinion.

I would think it would. A 16 ft boat with a waterline of about 13 ft will be on the plane at quite low speeds. I suspect it would plane, but with a reasonably slow max speed.

Very borderline. I doubt it would, at least not with normal cruising weight. If you stripped it out then it might with a 35hp 2T, but if you had say 3 or 4 people and full fuel on board it would be marginal and probably wouldn't get over the hump, or would take ages to do it. 50hp would be much better

Heavy hull the L Bennet. 50 min needed imho especially with peeps and kit onboard
Tried one a long long time ago it had an old old OMC on it. Seemed ok
I notice your location says' Mersyside' lots of current and short choppy seas in the Irish Sea
Good sea boat for its size but I would say a 50 is minimum

hey thanks very much for all your replies and advice, I do have an evinrude 55 on her now but it doesn't want to tick over so I was thinking of replacing it but perhaps its worth further investigation to sort out the evinrude.thanks once again all.Kieron
