Get my engine running again - dealing with the emulsified oil

Ready for the off!

The only thing to note so far as that the head bolts around cylinder 2 were noticeably mucky and oily, particularly down around the threads. Didnt really notice if they were any easier to undo than the others.

It all looked pretty mucky around cylinder 2 but no other damage.
Got home and stripped the head and gave it a quick clean. The injectors came out easier than expected, just a little wiggle tho the Kroil may have helped. The valve seats don’t look too bad, lot of carbon to clean up and a little lap should sort them.

Replacement injector sleeves and tools…any suggestions?

After a delay with getting the injectors checked and serviced, reassembly finally begins!

Along the way I have ended up getting new Bosch injector tips from Keva Diesel in Turkey as we struggled trying to find them in the UK. A set of three delivered in four days for £107!

Failure of the circulating pump causing oil contamination is almost unheard of, they seem to outlast the main block. This engine has suffered a major head gasket failure, which is often caused by overheating, too big a prop resulting in detonation, water ingress into the cylinders due to incorrect installation, or some chump fiddling with the cylinder head bolts.
