I had a strange moment of deja vue when I had a look at this site. Read the embarassing moment piece, and realised I'd seen it before. It's a cut down version of the article on p104 of June edition of YM.

Don't ipc have copyright over such things, or has the author (a journalist) the rights to sell the piece several times?

Re: CRAP site.

I tried this site the other day after reading your post, but it was pretty CRAP! Good idea, but didn't find anyone I was after.

Well, I thought it was a good idea... give it time.

The author is listed on matesahoy - he says there has been nothing commercial about it and that he owns the copyright. It was meant to be a bit of fun - when you've done as much sailing as he has it hurts to admit such foolishness in public but he thought that it would be amusing.

I thought it was a jolly good read (both times)

Yes - quite a coincidence especially as it took four years for YM to get around to printing an article my uncle had written.
