I had a nice day out around Christchurch and Tuckton (Mrs B wanted to go bird watching) looking at the boats along the riverbanks and gazing out to sea from Hengistbury head.
But I was down on the boat Thursday and Friday.

On Saturday evening, we went into Lymington Town Quay for supper, along with 7 other Moody Owners, and could only find one spare berth - the place was jammed solid !!

Also, there seemed to be as many boats sailing today (SUnday) as a weekend in July or August, but far fewer power boats churning up the sea.

Yesterday I helped take a friend's Vega out of the water . . . today I took another friend sailing in ours. Only a quick blast down the sound, but enough to make me very pleased she's staying in.

I spent the weekend hanging upside down in the cockpit installing the Eberspacher. Still haven't finished.

Well spotted. Blooming cold. Thirty or forty fbig working horses and Child 1 and 2 preferred stroking the donkeys.

Was very tempted to take the ladder away - wot you doing up there, building a rooftop alfresco FB can heater?

Got a life

Well, while you girls were poncing about in the Solent us big boys were out on the ocean main. A daring raid from Keyhaven to Poole, gale force 0 on Saturday there, nice w3/4 on Sunday back cruising chute and all that stuff. Hardly a sole there apart from some training boats alongside the Quay which forced us into the marina, which incidently I was impressed with, prices about the same as the Solent and a truly capacious shower block.

A little bit of excitement with a tremendous hailstorm as we went into Poole harbour entrance with about 5 knots streaming out on the ebb. Boat aground on the shingle bank just inside the entrance. Wasn't one you was it?
