I am not going to argue with you but if you read my last sentence again that is EXACTLY what I said. REGARDLESS OF SSR REGISTRY. I would not be offended if you read my posts thoroughly before disagreeing.
I give up! We have an English lawyer living in Poland who argues before he has read what he is arguing about who is now sparrin with a wee laddie from Scotland we a law degree frae Glasgow wi three daughters an a frazzled brain. Geez! First time I saw two lawyers arguing without presenting a bill.....
Next time I will stick to something simple like quantum mechanics or wimmin......

[ QUOTE ]
Certain individuals such as retired naval officers could well have the right to wear a blue ensign but not belong to a club at all
[/ QUOTE ]
Only if they are members of the RNSA, have a boat that complies with the size regulations (Min LOA etc) and have applied for and received the permit. Very few things come of right as a retired RN officer.... Not that I qualify yet...
Is that correct? Oh well wrong again!
Actually in reading up the relevant acts (in order to try and prove Simon wrong in which I failed cos everything he says is boringly correct although he has a problem reading) I see that the Bluie should only be worn with the relevant club burgee of the qualifying organisation. This seems to go right back to Claymores original question in that if thats so the Ensign should not be flown without it so the Ensign should come down before the burgee..... As the Red Ensign can be worn without a club burgee though it doesn't really apply....... And although as a member of CA I can wear a defaced bluie I don't as I think it's a bit elitist and not really understood outside UK waters...
I am now really bored by the whole subject though and if it wasn't raining I would be out on the boat getting ready for launch next Monday..... Sad isn't it?
Isn't that what I said ages back? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Last year we were given a lovely CA blue ensign, which we've never worn for the more pragmatic reason that everyone watches you, waiting for the monumental cock-up as you come into dock. However, if we come in under red and if we make a splendid job of that then change it for the blue.... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
