Anyone know where I can get some gelcoat for our Jeanneau?
I got some previously from SMB (given it to someone or lost it) but thay have gone to the wall then Parkstone were trying to get me some from Seaventures - they too have popped.
Heard from a couple of yacht friends that they struggled to get any
Any thoughts?

Any good GRP man worth his salt should be able to colour match. We had some cosmetic work done to our 1986 Storebro. The guy matched the colour perfectly and it was an "off-cream".

There is no one around us that can do this (Maryport, Cumbria). The boat is two years old so would not have suffered any colour degredation yet as the bits I need to repair are on the steps to the flybridge which pinged off when I used a pressure washer - I know, don't use pressure washers on gelcoat!

I would call Walton marine. They were very helpful when i needed a pot of Geanneau 'cream' gel coat. They ordered me a pot direct from the factory and supplied the catalyst and even a pair of rubber gloves!!

Wakeup is right Walton Marine will get you some , its the same phone number as SMB , same place and some of the staff are the same.

Hmm goes to show the quality of gelcoat on Jeanneau! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif What do you use to wash off the hull?

Well, I use the big fat pressure washer the marina provide to wash the hull, like I use the big fat pressure washer to wash the car at the car wash.
I used the 'home' pressure washer that has megga bar pressure without the volume of water that a more professional washer has.
I blasted some paint of SWMBO's car in the past too! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif should have learnt my lesson and kept the 'home' washer for doing the paths only (which is why I now go to a car wash)

Hmm, I managed to get some inside 10 days from the factory via Waltons, sounds like may be your dealer didn't actually order when you thought they did as this is stuff that Jeanneau are using every day so should always have continuos supply. There is now way overland from France should take 6 weeks, someone has bullshitted you Arnie so I would suggest not using 'ANY' Jeanneau dealer.

Bullshitted?

You might well be right and I did think that at the time but talking to them I didn't get that feeling. I have worked with them preparing boats for delivery, they sponsored me for my Round Britain etc so I would be surprised if they felt they needed to bullshit me.

None the less... you could be right /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
