Is there a website anywhere (I've tried and cannot find) describing the elements/how they go together, of the rods at the end of the gear cable as it goes onto the gearbox?
I have Hurth 800 A2 and the linkage was knocked/fell apart during the engine service. Looks as though the inner threaded rod has previously been damaged, and only had two threads to screw in, the engineer is going to "tap and die" (if thats correct terminology) more thread, but I wonder whether should be longer, and also thinking it would be good to inverstigate the port engine's linkage too. But as everything currently open & accessible, whether simple replacement of the whole lot would be a better option.
Looking for something which gives me a broad picture as I am a complete novice at these linkages.
Would it be a simple measure length & diameter of cable and get new, or are the ends different depending on throttles (old style Morse in this case) and the gearbox connection?
