Strangley I voted yes I liked his wind ups etc but didnt like it when things went too far

Since he left though the forum has been a better place with more new members and less bickering so overall I think the forum is better without him !!!

If the poll had been limited to just those forumites who lived thru the whole G1/H1/GC1/Lou1971 saga, it would have been nowhere near 58%. That figure is inflated by new forumites who voted for his reinstatement but they don't know his real forum persona. Anyway, it's a waste of time discussing it because he clearly broke forum regulations concerning multiple ISP's on a number of occasions and that's a red card from the moderators

Perhaps that is the point. Us new guys would like the chance to judge for ourselves rather than be guided buy others like a bunch of kids. I don't doubt that you "elders" are quite right, & if he cocks up again then off he goes, but life really is to short, believe me I know.

If I were the moderator and a ban was to be imposed, I would ban for a specific time (one or three months) and if a further ban is required then double it (2 or 6 months) and and keep repeating the exercise by doubling the ban every time. Similar to the Security Code on a car radio, whereby you are banned from re-trying to enter the security code for a minute then two minutes, then 4 minutes etc.

The moderators did multiple bans, and he was barred from other forums as well, which says a lot
