Wanting to fit a replacement multipoint on my Soveriegn 32, I am informed by Southampton Calor Centre that the EEC has now banned these from being fitted, and they I cannot therefore get a qualified fitter to install it!! I am a bit nervous about DIY gas - any ideas please?? (Emsworth area) I do not particularly want to fit a calorifier, and the heater has suited our needs very well.

I had a gas water heater a couple of boats ago and was always very nervous even after it was replaced with a new one. The risk is obviously explosion/exfixiation(spelling?) and an insurance problem!!! Last boat I fitted a hot water calorifier obviosly run off the engine - cost about £250.00 with an electric element, never looked back, would never go back to the gas jobbies!
