I am thinking of buying a gas solenoid valve complete with regulator (from BEP Marine N.Z. via Power-Store in the UK) which has a gas inlet fitting described in the brochure as : "POL Thread".

Anybody know if this is compatible with Camping Gas bottles ??

Thanks in advance.

I don't think so. POL fittings seem to be intended for a female thread on a propane bottle. Lots of information here Camping Gaz bottle regulators have a special fitting that depresses the internal ball and I guess that this is unique.

However, you can purchase solenoid valves for this purpose that have compression fittings for insertion into the copper supply pipe. Don't know a supplier but I would guess that the link above would be a good starting point.

You can get a fitting to go on the smaller camping gas bottle (the screw on ones) that transforms the camping gas bottle to enable it to be fitted to calor gas regulator. I dont know if there is an equivalent fitting for propane. I carry one and a couple of camping gas bottles in case that is the only gas I can get.
