Gas locker vent

Constructing a new gas bottle locker, to fit a 13kg calor cylinder. For the locker vent to outside the boat any recommended sizes???

Your locker drain should be at least 12mm diameter, but 19mm diameter is generally considered to be better. There's lots of useful information in the Boat Safety Scheme LPG section.

As pvb says refer to the BSS part 7 Almost every thing you will need to know is in there with the exceptionIIRC of the thickness of wood to use if you are making a wooden locker!

Bit of an aside Peter, a puzzling feature of my Nic 32 is the gas drain, it,s obviously the original installation, mouldings, piping etc, but the drain exits under the water line, I can,t imagine how that can work, but as I say Nic,s installed it???
BTW, I am a Morgan, born and bred in Witehevn marra, Irish St!

[/ QUOTE ] Basically it can't. Section 7 of the boat safety scheme gives a recommended minimum height for a gas locker drain above the water line.

Thats what I thought Vic, bizarre Nics should do this, one day SOON, I will modify the drain. Bill.
