I take it your talking about Calor. The hole will soon be filled by another supplier. I can't see it being filled too long after it appears.

What I dont understand is that I read in the motoring press that somebody had developed fuel using used chip fat oil his car ran great emissions were ok etc and he produced this for 3 p a litre, yet as soon as he wanted to use it on the road he was told that he had to pay 29p a litre in duty or he would be breaking the law!!

Re: Just typical!

I converted to my LPG when I changed my company car last year. Part of the blurb from Volvo outlined the benefit for fleet operators in installing their own bulk LPG tank. Heat the offices and fill up the cars from the same tank and negotiate with the supplier on bulk costs up to 10p a litre cheaper.
Anyone fancy a cooperative?

Yup veggie oil. They sell it as Bio Diesel. Most veggie oil is mainly Rape seed oil. NOT saying I've used it on the road but have diluted normal diesel with 40% veggie oil. The engine run fine. The engine was a little diesel limp running a genny. Fair few hours on that engine now, and the internals are actually cleaner than if running straight diesel.

If you produce a fuel yourself and use it for the road, you need to pay the revenue the appropriate level of tax. Most of the money you hand over in the garage goes to the government.
