Yes copper olives ... you should be able to get the fittings with copper olives, not have to buy them separately.

Do not use any jointing compound and do not overtighten. The aim is to compress the olive onto the pipe without squashing that as well.

I know i must use copper, not brass but I'm sure I read that the tube type olives should be used rather than rounded standard types?

Yes, the usual advice is to use soft copper parallel olives (ie tube type) for LPG installations. The compression fittings sold by BES come complete with soft copper parallel olives - http://www.bes.co.uk/products/140.asp

Perfect, just what i needed.Thanks.
Next bit I don't like in the regs is the requirements for each appliance to have its own isolation valve. Surely it's just as easy to shut it off at the bottle on a standard size yacht. The more joints there are, the more chance there is of a leak.

Each appliance where there are multiple appliances but not required where there is only one .

Its not a regulation that applies to privately owned yachts not using inland waterways. You can do what you like ... but a surveyor may not agree with you.

You should not see an extra joint or two as potential leaks. Merely as another joint or two you have to make properly.

I thought this project would be easy but even sourcing bits is hard work. Half the places don't really know what they are selling and now i'm after the BSP to metric couplings for the regulator and water heater. Any ideas? Some places are willing to sell them but don't do them with parallel olives. Is the coupling for parallel olives different to normal? Next is the usual argument about braided or non braided for the cooker hose? I believe its non braided?
For a start, where can i get a coupling with female 10mm (as in pic) but stepping down to 8mm pipe with the parallel copper olives?
That original setup going down to imperial is just a mess!

You can get parallel olives separately. Non-braided hose allows proper inspection for cracks/chafe.

Someone is being a little greedy on eBay (there's a surprise!). He's selling parallel olives for £2.60 EACH which BES sell at £0.66 each.
