Gas bottle rusting

BP Gaslight 5kg to large for the gas locker fitted on my Moody. The original bottles i had were two 4.5kg calor gas...

That's a good reason!

Might just be worth making a space model and trying it even so; my boat's gas locker was also made for 3 x 4.5kg Calor but actually I find I can (just) fit 2 x 5Kg Gaslight.

Since in Spain you might be better still trying Repsol (h = 40cm, dia = 31cm for 6kg Butane) composite bottles to see if they fit; they're only 4cm higher. Or maybe Le Cube (h = 36cm, x 28.5 x 28.5 for 5Kg Butane), but these are French so suitability will depend on your cruising plans, I never saw any in Spain.

Do more cooking, use them up faster, exchange them for full ones before the rust gets too bad

The problem often arises because the drain in the locker isn't at the bottom, allowing water to collect. Put a small length of cord in the outlet hose with its end in the bottom of the locker to wick it dry.

What sort of cord would you recommend?
