Gas Barbecues on Rail

We have been using a Cobb for about 10 years. We love it. It can be used on the cockpit table as the base doesn't get hot. We usually place on the liferaft on the back deck when at anchor. It will roast a chicken, do roast potatoes, or function like a frying pan. You can do a chocolate fondue with it?
Fat from food doesnt go on to the coals so very little smoke/flames. We take it to the beach for a party. Its s/s so doesnt rust.
When not in use it lives in its bag in the back cabin. We like to keep it clean and thats the worst thing about it. Scrubbing it clean

Lots of good ideas here, thanks!
For gas, they supply a GRP small bottle here, around 7kg, with a clear panel to gauge contents. Solves the rust problem with steel bottles. A 709 Camping Gaz bottle is more than a 13kg n for only 2.7 kg. But no room for the big bottle.

As a fellow Cobb user we have liners we insert for the grease but hose down lid etc and then if needed take home annually for dishwasher ,as I guess putting it in a pillowcase in the marina washing machine might not work and while the French like taking their washing to the ablutions block I haven’t yet found one equipped with a dishwasher for the needs of cobb users as yet. It certainly is worthwhile having a spare piece of board in the locker to stand on ( kitchen worksurface off cut) plus a low table if you don’t have a spare life raft .
