Garmin gpsmap 750 satellite problem

I have a Garmin gpsmap 750 chart plotter. It has an internal aerial. It has always worked without issue. However, it no longer detects any satellites, and displays an incorrect date.
I can manually reset the date, but it does not register any time passing. The event log lists an unexpected power off, but nothing else.
The plotter displays the charts and ais information...but not my position or gps information.
Any ideas?
Any help would be much appreciated.

had a problem from new 750s taking 20 mins to find maybe 3 or 4 sattelites.rang garmin up explaining problem and my 555s found position in seconds they walked me through updating etc all to no avail.returned product and now finds all sats in seconds as it should.you may now have a faulty unit too.gamin help was good and walked me through over the phone so well happy customer service.

Yes I agree must be faulty - mine initialises and find satellites as quickly as the GPS128 which has it's own aerial.
