Anyone know a good UK supplier of Garmin cables? In particular a bare ended power and NMEA cable for a Garmin GPSMAP 76 (older version).
VHF at the other end is a Cobra F55EU (That's the easy bit though!).

you could make your own. the round connectors are available on line http://www.pfranc.com/ its a pledge system wich is a bit strange but it works . it works out at about £8 for two connectors or whatever you pledge. just made one this week bare ended works out £4 a cable depending where you got a bare ended cable from it could cost as much as £20
cheers

Hi ALL,
Can the data end of a power/data cable be split to supply both the VHF set and a laptop? Garmin map 72 - Cobra Vhf.

Should be no problem - 'Officially' each NMEA output should be able to drive 4 NMEA inputs (just connect everything in parallel). In practice, people have driven more than this.

(There are sometimes problems with compatability for older kit, but I believe these are rare, and the advice would be to connect everything up to see if it works, anyway).

Don't forget to set the interface to 'NMEA' in the GPS72 set-up menu.
