Hi,
My Garmin GPSmap 450 chartplotter has been very reliable until recently. The problem is happening on start-up. When powered on, the Garmin logo appears briefly, but it's a bit dull/muted and then the screen goes blank and the power shuts down.
I've tried an alternative battery away from the boat wiring to ensure that the unit is getting power directly, but this hasn't helped. It seems likely to me that it's a power problem, or that the unit is shutting down due to a problem with the start up procedure/checks. In theory, it could be a problem with the cable, or the connection to the unit, as the cable has never properly/fully connected with the input on the unit.
Any thoughts for troubleshooting?
Thanks
