If the AC (shore power) system is not attached to the DC ground (earth), is a galvanic isolator of 1) any benefit, 2) unnecessary or even 3) contra-indicated?

The current (2012) International standard requires that the shorepower earth is bonded to the DC negative etc, except where the DC system is completely isolated ( as in some sail drive installations for example).
The previous edition of the standard allowed the shorepower earth not to be bonded provided the whole craft was protected by an RCD.
If the shorepower earth is not bonded to the DC negative and/or the anodes etc a galvanic isolator is not necessary and will be of no benefit.
( not talking about boats with metal hulls in the above of course)
