Hi iam going to to refurb the galley i have a new oven sink and hob what do i use for work top which is light heat resistant can be shaped and finished with some sort of edge,r

I used Apollo quick tops from an eBay seller al Cucina. Looks a but like corian, and trims with a router just fine.

Make sure you tell them you only want the 6mm top, not the chip board attached.

Has mine for two years now and still like new. We don't place red hot pans on it, but looks great.

Yup, Corian, Avonite or the perfectly good copycats But as SH6K says, do not put really hot thick pans on it. If you want to do that you have to use granite. you can get thin granite, about 12mm, and glue it to wood, if you want to save weight

We used granite on our galley rebuild on Motala, really pleased and since I was happy to have an 'off cut' cut for us as a boats galley is not exactly large it was not as expensive as I thought it would be, it actually did not weigh that much.
