FUSION MS-RA70 Question

Hi all,

I have a Fusion Radio with 4 Speakers on my boat and want to add a Sub.

Does anyone know what Fusion Sub will work and whether the head unit will run it or do I need a separate/additional amp?

I don’t want to blow the windows out of the boat but I do want some additional depth to the system.

The head unit can power the amp on and off.
And there is a fusion sub with an amp built in.

If you want to save money, just fit a Pioneer car sub. Size of a large book, about £150, can be connected to the sub out on your Fusion and controlled by a power on/off trigger from the Fusion. I mounted mine under the chart table and fixed the remote next to the Fusion.

Other models available but I was really impressed with the results (ex sound engineer who likes 70s disco funk motown).

I've got these, brand new in boxes although about fifteen years old now if any good to you.
All or just what you need. I'm sure we can come to an arrangement!

I can’t remember sorry and it’s quite a dismantle to get to it. If the sub is in the saloon there are plenty of car under seat versions available as wonkywinch points out. A separate sub is no big deal though. It’s just the cables from the amp to the speaker that are extra

Edit I have a CP AS 1080
8” active superslimline subwoofer.

Measure before buying they are bigger than they look when in a boat.

Thanks, I’m in Ireland so I think the postage and duties would not be worth it.

Here is a connection drawing I made showing how easy it is to hook up. No holes to drill for speakers etc as this unit is surface mounted and easy to hide away somewhere. Your ears cannot detect the direction of bass frequencies so placement of the speaker is very flexible.

You need to buy a mono to stereo RCA/phono lead to connect the two channel input of the speaker to the single channel sub out of your Fusion, the RCA already dangling on the back of the Fusion loom. Similarly, the blue (on/off control) wire of the sub connects to the same colour amp on/off wire also on the Fusion loom. One of the simplest jobs in the world installing this speaker to a Fusion radio.
