My first boat had a Raymarine Dragonfly which I really liked , I've just sold my SC35 which had a Raymarine e125 which I thought was fantastic and now I'm about to buy my next boat which has a Furono mfd12 which I know absolutely nothing about. Is one system particularly better than the other for any reason?
I used Navionics Gold charts before and I only have experience with these, I thought these were very good.
Going from Raymarine to Furuno seems like a leap into the unknown, is there any reason I should feel like this? Perhaps there's some Furono aficionados out there that can allay my fears :)

I too am just changing - I don't think there's much to choose between the two, but I have always leaned towards Raymarine, so that's the route I'm taking. Perhaps others will have more info, but often it's just down to what suits you best.

Yes, that how it seems to me too. I read somewhere that the Furuno is more expensive, if so is there a justification for the increased cost? Does one have greater functionality than the other or a wider range of applications?
