Furling headsale cost

Could anyone give me an idea of what the total cost might be to install a furling headsale on a 21’ boat?

Obviously the mechanism, running the furling line back, could the current hanked on jib be converted or would I be looking at a new sail too? Anything else?

I don’t own the boat, although would need to consider this as an immeadiate cost, should I make an offer.

You could probably get your headsail converted for about £100-£150 but if you want a new sail I would probably budget top end of about £1000.

Might be worth putting in the budget a new forestay £100 (depending on fittings)?

I'm three-parts through that process.

I purchased two of the smaller Plastimo units from JGM at a worthwhile discount, and had the existing forestay renewed, as well as other standing rigging. The existing genoa, and one of three smaller/older foresails, are being modified from 'hank on' to furling, using a mix of Kiwi Slides and reinforced luff tape. Sailmakers have a range of opinions on this, and a range of costs. I have little doubt the outcome will be cost effective...

Then I'll assess whether it would be cost-effective - and when - to have an all-new genoa built.
