Fuel tanks

All my boats have had uninsulated tanks and I assume this is true for most standard production boats. There are debates about condensation and whether to leave tanks full or empty but I’m not aware of problems either way. Also your era of engine will be more tolerant of any water than the modern direct injection type engine.

On my boat the tanks in the engine are insulated with what looks like Armaflex closed cell sheets. These are available with peel off adhesive type backing and are available in various thickness. There are probably other suppliers other than Armaflex now, they were leaders in this field 25 years ago. eBay closed cell insulation sheets. I’m not convinced that it’s necessary, it’s now deteriorating and leaving a powdery residue
