Fuel tank leak

Ok..so a change of tack...the weather is turning nasty...winds over 50mph are coming...so I decided this isn’t the best time to bother Beneteau...The last time the boss at Beneteau was all keen (at least to our face) but checked the forecast (and it was very bad) and said he’ll will wait to the following week...by which time he had lost interest...so we will wait till the beginning of good weather and then bother him.
In the meantime I will still check out the ceramic coating people and report back on my shock, horror and anger at the cost?

The price will depend on how much preparation they say they have to do with a new car it shouldn't be that much but with an older one then they will normally quote for machine polishing on top of washing and stripping of old finishes, it all depends on the state of the paint and can take from a couple of days to a week depending on how many coats of the ceramic they put on and what protective finish. Have you put your milk float through a car wash?

I go for the 1 wash a year approach - it's then absolutely amazing how different the car looks, just for a £20 valet. Shame that this year I had it done the day before 1kg of Sahara sand was dumped on it.

In the days of a company car it was car wash once a week and hand job and valet by the local east European car washers who did a very good job. The cars were never garaged and did a lot of miles but they were presentable after 3 years. Now I buy my own I tend to take more care of them by hand washing every week or so and waxing or surface coating and polishing every now and again. I am retired so the time isn't a problem.

A 'hand job' you say?

Ok update….first…it is raining cats and dogs…second we couldn’t find the place …we found a car wash place in the exact location but the bloke there said it was round the corner…but it was un discoverable…did I say it is peeing down…the wife does not have her happy face on…I am in no bargaining position to say her soaking wet dog can’t get back in my car…we are having coffee …life is miserable….and it’s my fault ?

What are you trying to achieve with snake oil potions applied ?
Remind us all what colour the combustible milk float is ?

Its just theses days I buy sell cars over the phone / internet , accurately describe them and work from WBAC price upwards .
No one ever factors in addition snake oil potion application .Totally silent .
Obviously at the hand over they walk round it we swap keys they run up the road etc .I run up the road in the new one .
Covids been great in getting rid of the SE , reducing car transactions to a few key board taps + min phone calls and electronic banking .
No one in the industry at re sale gives a 7oss about previous spend on snake oil applications.

If I was you I would focus on the title of this thread and start saving mentally for that or being a season boat less .

If you can't find it it sounds like some back street place with guys doing it "on the black" best give it a miss and spend some of your dosh having the car valeted and the smell of wet dog removed.

I am sure that you are fully aware that the boating season is getting ever closer, Surely it's about time the dealer showed some action.
Can you not chivvy him along like no doubt othr customers are doing.

And for whoever asked...I have not put the Tesla through an automatic car wash....it could make swirly patterns on the Pearl color (for whoever else asked).
Anyhow change of plans...tomorrow after a nice lunch out...we will visit another boat yard and test the waters...

Well that, of course, is the whole problem....when they had time they procrastinated...now they claim to be swamped...

and..... I recovered from a nasty fall....built a car port....studied for an exam....so yes I was also a little distracted

SWMBO and I have just treated our brand new XC90 with the Matrix ceramic coating.
Yes - our Dear Old Land Cruiser has gone - after nearly 23 years - we had it since new and the new owner should still get some good years more out of it.
Anyway, the XC90 was coated with Matrix a couple of weeks ago and the surface is really smooth.
We lightly washed it yesterday and the dirt simply washed away.
I've not used ceramic coatings before but they do seem to work.
I think I'm going to have my F01 BMW 730 done later in the summer as well.

What Landcruiser did you have ? I had a 4.2 manual transmission for 19 years and then changed for a new diesel XC90, the Landcruiser was an epic bullet proof machine and beautifully engineered, the XC90 feels like a sports car in comparison though.

But surely you are at the top of their list if they had arranged to collect your boat.
Did they supply the boat.
Yes, they supplied the boat...in fact we were repeat customers...but like any dealership (car or boat) they are really only interested in selling you another boat. The boss of the yard was hot to trot about picking up the boat and repeating all my tests....but there was no follow through.
I don’t like dealerships...in fact one of the deciding factors in choosing a Tesla was there are no dealerships.
Anyhow, tomorrow we will visit another yard and see what they have to say....

Apologise for the thread drift
Our Landcruiser was an Amazon - 4.2 Auto.
It never let us down.
Did the run out to Sant Carles in Spain several times.
We bought it when I had my business and when we sold, SWMBO and I bought it out of the business.
Since then, it has gone "on and on" and "on and on" and "on and on".
Outlived two 7 series BMWs
I don't think we will ever own such a reliable truck again.
The XC90 is beautiful - one of the new "mild" hybrids (B5) so, in reality, just a diesel.
I am hoping that it will be one of the last excuses for a diesel.
It would have been nice to have had a D5 engine - the B5s haven't been around very long.
But conversely, it does have good fuel consumption.
We are pleased with the XC90 anyway.
