Ok I have two tanks. Main and Aux. Main holds 750L and the Aux 250L. Yes a tonne. My main is full of white deisel from the med. The Aux is empty.

1. Should I just continue topping up the main tank to prevent condensation even though there is a good 700L in it at the moment? Is keep it topped up really that significant / important over winter?

2. My heater runs from the Aux only and I don't really want to fill it considering I already have 700L on board. So qurstion as above then. Can I get away with just sticking 100L in it for heating or will the fact it is half empty cause a problem.

3. People have said that old webasto heaters like white diesel due to lower sulpher content. Is that really true and if so am I best to put white into the Aux tank from the petrol station? Or I could transer from from the main I suppose.

My Eber D4 runs really well on kerosene (paraffin). If you are only using the aux tank for heating could be as cheap as red diesel, but perhaps get another opinion on Webasto and kerosene.

If your tanks are fitted with drain valves, a little condensation is easily removed. Otherwise the accepted wisdom is that it is better to keep tanks full to avoid condensation.
Most red diesel is now low sulphur, but not all. My supplier still supplies high sulphur red diesel, which while possibly better for the engine, is a disaster for my Eberspacher.
