Boat = outboard / Petrol, with 1 x fuel filter on engine, and 1 x fuel / water separator between tank/engine

I want to get a replacement fuel water seperator filter element. I took a note of the filter name today, but when I looked up the filter number on the "In-Line Filters" website, I very much get the impression that this filter is for diesel fuel.

Any filter experts out there??

My filter element is white & red and says Delphi 796... i'd like to know is this a petrol or diesel filter?

Thanks
Rob

it is used on a large number of tractors, all of which are diesel. But, shirley, the question is how many microns, if the purpose is filter out particulate contamination ?

EDIT

looks as if they are 5 micron filters. I can't see them not being unsuitable for petrol - except perhaps for the sealing ring as nitryl is OK with diesel and petrol, but rubber and diesel don't get along, I am told.
