Fuel cost in Croatia?

Go empty as possible to Croatia but not too empty /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
Eurodiesel costs here less than 1 EUR.

Current diesel price in Italy is actually more in the 1.10-1.20 range, but the most interesting option is the tax-free fuel.
There is some paperwork involved, but as long as you're leaving the Country after refilling you're entitled to it.
Last year that was around 75 eurocents.

Have you any more info the tax-free fuel? Our boat is currently berthed in Monfalcone, near Trieste, but we're leaving there for a fortnight's Croatian cruising in 3 weeks time.....

We will be returning to Monfalcone afterwards, does this make a difference? Next year we will be full-time live-aboards, and leaving the berth for good.

I used to refuel here when I had the boat in Adriatic.
The same facility is possibly available also in Monfalcone, or Trieste at least.
In a nutshell, you need a small book (giornale di bordo) stamped by the coast guard (capitaneria di porto).
The tax-free fuel is reported on this book, and you must get it stamped by foreign (Croatian) authorities upon arrival.
This is to prove you didn't use it in Italian waters.
It actually doesn't make any difference if you are returning the day after with the same fuel, as long as you get the book stamped.
The authorized fuel stations usually can support you also with regard to the paperwork.
The one I mentioned above even took care of it for you, with an additional fee.
