Frugal sailing

SNAP!
Thing is to have simple tastes. Ienjoy cooking, eat on board as a matter of course, don't need a car, cycle or walk to shops, buy stuff that's on offer.or as Idid on arrival in Largs --picked geens(wild cherries) and brambles so I could bake 3.142! I also bake my own bread if I can't get fresh although I think that's probably an extravagance!

Don't wear designer oilies or buy flash gear, either.

But how can you reconcile suitable quantities of proper custard (ie Bird's powder and full cream milk - none of this poncy creme anglais stuff!) with living on the basics. As a yoof, I used to regard a pint a day with mothers apple pie as the minimum required for sustenance.

I have nothing but admiration for those on small means who get by and are cheerful about it. But I have no romantic ideas that that is for me - I'm sure I'm happier with spare cash in my pocket.

We've never had spare cash in pocket and I intend to retire on a pension of £14k in the next couple of years. I just hope that's enough SWMBO and I for long term cruising! After all, the only think you can't buy is time.
