Hi,
Posting this on behalf of a friend. He fancies a boat he can go down to for a bit of man time and to go on short trips. He likes the look of this and is off in the morning to see it. he knows little about boats and I know little about motor boats. Not the my boat is much different. what do you think of the model and anything to look out for.

No idear, ive not looked at the details . I thought she looked nice for a 70s style motor boat. Not sure about the engine, im used to Betas and yanmars really so that to me is a bit of an unknown.

Good old style displacement cruiser. Engine is shaft drive BMC 1.5rl diesel. Very common at the time and still viable as fitted to many boats both sailing, workboats and canal boats. good for pottering, dishing and not going anywhere fast!

Ill pass on your comments to him. Sounds a great boat for some important time out for him. He deserves it.
Thanks

There will not be a queue of folk waiting to throw their money at this one, and the perfect buyer for anyone is the novice complete with rose tinted specs.

I would suggest he needs to be wary and think long and hard before he parts with his hard earned, but that said it might well be the perfect boat for him.

If it were me I would be looking to pay a lot less than the AP.

That looks a very nice boat but quite old. If an outboard will also push that a long that is a comfort given the age of that engine.

I think I would factor in about £2000 - £3000 for stuff that might need doing. But with the boat market being as it is their might not be much wiggle room

Well he decided it was not the boat for him. I thought it was not bad for an old cruiser. bit of charm. comfy, Just the sort of boat where you can pop down, do a bit of varnishing, chat far too much and even pop out on the water a bit. Far more comfy than my Twister. Each to their own.

your thoughts were exactly the same as Mini. Good boat to have a tinker with. Lovely boat also if you smoke a pipe ?
