Fridge motor on constantly when ‘on’.

Thanks very much for everyone’s input, but I have a shameful admission to make...

I spent a while looking for the compressor so I could see what refrigerant was being used and I couldn’t find it anywhere. (Can you see where this is going yet?). Then I noticed another current fridge thread on here about someone looking for spares for his Supercool brand fridge. Same brand as mine, and, like mine, it’s a peltier effect fridge, or should that be cooler?
So, my apologies to you all. I had assumed that my expensive (when new) Parker 31 would have been fitted with a half decent fridge. Just as well I’ve just put two new house batteries in then!

That explains the varying speed heard as the fan will be speed controlled, likely on a simple varying voltage from the controller.
 
Indeed. If it proves too power hungry for longer trips I have a waeco portable compressor fridge that’ll fit nicely under the chart table.
