Fridge Engineer nr Fambridge

Hi there,

Currently wrestling with non-functioning fridge.

Replaced the thermostat did not fix the problem, (took over 3 weeks to get the replacement, but that's another story). Compressor, Danfoss BD35F, does not start so need the charge level and the electronic unit checked out.

Any recommendations for fridge engineers nr Fambridge ?

Not near Fambridge, but if you have to go further afield, can highly recommend Penguin refrigeration in the Solent area...

Thanks for the pointer, Penguin, or 'fixmyfridge' has info on fault codes, just need some wire and a 10mA LED.

I had no idea the system was so complicated, the motor runs on 3 phase !!!

Still might need an engineer to check the charge :-(

Boat is not called Moonshine, naming ceremony last Sunday gave it the name of Three Farthings.

Do Penguin just operate in the Solent or can they be encouraged to make trips further afield?

My fridge broke down two years back but Hayward were not really able to offer a satisfactory solution.

Fridge is fixed !

After much internet trawling I discovered some articles on Danfoss BD35F fault codes via a fitted LED. This indicated a major fault on either controller or compressor. Phoned Shoreline Sussex ended up ordering replacement controller £105 in del. They also can supply replacement compressors.

Climbed back in cupboard, connected up, and hurrah, all appears to be working again. Cold beers back on the menu.

It is interesting that I could not find any local refridgeration engineers knowledgeable in 12v systems ! For future reference, if anyone comes across one please advise.
