The Vintage club and Grad owners club don't know.

The sail is Freshman as shown by a gent on this forum.

Do you know?

The side decks look a bit too narrow, and the pivoting centreboard seem to have too much of rake for a Graduate. Also not sure about the absence of a compartment at the stern - it might be very early one, though.

My Graduate (sail no 1800-ish IIRC) had a stern tank. I don't remember it having side tanks. The thwart was straight, not tapered and the foredeck was much flatter. Have a look at the Graduate measurement rules .

I wouldn't recognise the boat in the picture as a Graduate.

Is the spinnaker chute that is laying in the bilges part of the boat? (I can't see a hole for it in the foredeck.) If so, it is definately not a Graduate - they do not have spinnakers.

Its a nice little dinghy (whatever it is!) ..... as is the Graduate

I agree with the opinions above regarding the likelihood of it being a Grad'

Is it yours?
Looks like she could use a bit of TLC?

Out of interest, how many of us once sailed a Graduate at the local gravel pit? Mine was sail number 2739.

Thanks to all responders.

The mystery deepens, but at least it looks as though it may not be a grad. The aft deck definately does not look like modern Grads, as mentioned.

Spinnaker fitting is from my old mirror dinghy I think (that was a while ago)

Rudder is the smaller one - this doesn't look like Grads I've seen either.

Trying to sell the boat.
But need to know what to call it first.
Does need TLC, but it is all sound - just stored in a dry place for a long time.
Thanks anyway

Hey jim,
I know for a fact that one of those dinghies sold for £3000 over near Swanage 2 months back.

Rare as "Rocking Horse ____" is the term.

Didn't look quite as good as yours and it wasn't as early a model, it was sail number 27. If I were you, I'd hang onto it as a nest egg.
