French surveyor/engineer

Hello, could any of you med types recommend a surveyor and a volvo engineer to check out a boat I'm looking at buying on the French South coast?

Jim Pritchard works all over the place; if it was me, I'd rather pay travel expenses for someone I know and have used before, rather than someone local to the boat.

Thanks for that Jimmy, would you say the same for the engine inspection or would a local Volvo dealer be ok?

I don't even use the local dealers for servicing, let alone a pre-purchase inspection. I guess it depends on how good your French is though, if you're fluent then maybe a local would be ok. I'm not, and I'd rather use someone I know and can communicate effectively with for this sort of thing.
