My question to the Voies Navigables Françaises concerning water/air drafts:

Free translation of their reply

" Water levels are more or less constant when dams/weirs are closed. In times when waters are high, this level varies with their opening and closing. Thus water and air drafts can vary. Water drafts can also vary depending on current dredging operations. We will only have a detailed list of guaranteed water/air drafts for all French waterways about mid 2004. Temporary limitations will be able to be consulted on the VNF site at the end of the 3rd quarter 2003. If you need this information now you will need to contact each (regional ?) service".

On Wednesday got the latest list of closuers for the year from the Calais office. You can also get it off the net along with all the measurements you are after.
