Hi I’ve owned a freeman 24 for about 3 months. All was fine. I’ve used it several times I Went to use it today. Started ok engaged reverse. To move back. That was ok. Started to move forwards. That was ok to start with. After 100 yards. Just started reving with no movement tried putting it into reverse but doing the same Hence just started drifting luckily was still in the marina. Can anyone throw any light on my problem or had similar problems.

Will be a gearbox related issue rather than an engine problem.
Is it a hurth gearbox? Has it got the correct amount of atf in it ?
Check that when you move the throttle/gear lever that the gear lever on the gearbox is actually moving forwards and backwards as cable mountings could have come lose and are no longer moving the gear shift lever on the gearbox.
You can do the above while tied to the pontoon

Hi thank you foR replying we took the floor up to look at the linkage to make sure it was moving back and forth no signe of broken cables or anything snapped off prop shaft wasn’t moving As we thought the propeller had maybe come off so a bit worried tbh

Is it a TMP gearbox ?

Go to Google and click on images.
Type in "marine gearbox " and let's see if we can identify what you have.

It seems you are not very mechanical, you could say where you are ,some one may be close to help or you may need get a engineer to look at it .
