Have created a family/yacht website with details about us & the boat, what we've been up to, where we've been, what our plans are, etc....
It would be nice if we could share this would family & friends; so I'm looking for some free space to upload the lot. It's nothing major (12Mb at last count), and I won't get any prizes for the design.
As always, all help, pointers greatly appreciated.

Go to the Yahoo! site and then select "Geocities" and you can sign up for free web space.

If you are a Mac user like me (unlikely, I know) then you can get access to excellent web space as part of the .Mac subscription.

Good hunting

Register with Virgin or Freeserve and you get free webspace (Freeserve you have to connect once every 90 days to keep the account live) and there are no adds or pop ups on the webpages. Also rya-online allow free webspace when you register an e mail account, but they are currently making some changes.

You may have to reduce the size slightly but this can generally be done by optimising images.

Who are you using now to connect to the Web. All ISP's offer some web space, usually between 25 and 50Mbs.

Type Free web-space into your browser search and you will be amazed at available space ...

There are free isp's in Uk wherever etc. that will give you free web-space and also e-mail if you need it. The old NDO+ - now Ision is a good example.

Try to avoid geocities, not only are the pop up ads offputting they limit your bandwidth to some teeny number.

This seriously limits your visitors, someone recently posted their geocities webpage on MBM and after an hour or so yahoo had suspended the site due to traffic, it will return, but is a right royal pain.

Like others have said, go with your ISP.

Do you know it only costs around £15.00 pa to rent upwards of 30MB.
